Little heart bags made by people like you, with big hearts, to encourage and delight children at Kids Company.
Ruth and Belinda have dreamed of a way knitters can extend care to children they have never met by making a special heart-shaped bag. These can be pockets of hope and safety. We hope to gather 1000s of hearts, made by you, with kindness.
Real people can and always have seamlessly transferred the ability to hand-knit without permission from the printed page or authoritarian instruction.
Knitting is a beautiful and a welcome reminder of the boundless creativity and expression that can be created from, essentially, yarn and 2 sticks. It is a fabulous art.
It is also a challenging and diverse exploration of the tales the human soul needs to tell, and proof that sometimes fibre is the best medium with which to tell them.

As hand knitting is a portable and social activity so the finished piece will contain the ‘worked in’ memories absorbed in the making.
We encourage artists, who use knitting as their medium, to explore form, design, authenticity to present their work without apology in a sophisticated framework.
The trick to presenting knitting as art is to re-describe, re-verse, re-package it, cultivating a mental playfulness.
