Co- Founder member and co-Managing Director of R&B Design Events - company that promotes, exhibits and trains through workshops and skills busking sessions, practical know-how and hand-knitting skills development, Events managers /promoters; hosting the big KNIT shows, exhibitions, art events etc..
Award winner from UnLtd (Lottery/Millennium Funding) for community knitting scheme; Blanket Box Scheme (training in the community).
4 years running community knitting group; Knit2Tog, this group supports the daycare centre in Palenga, Northern Uganda with books, and tree planting help.
Ruth has (nearly) always knitted, and has searched for good yarn and simple well written designs, she started writing down what she was making when members of her knitting group (K2Tog asked for “directions” .She has a special interest in baby’s things, having had five of her own to wrap up against the cold and discomfort of the world. Her long term aim is to establish a training and trading relationship with the women of the Gulu area in Uganda, using her textiles skills, and adding group work counselling experience.
